Einar Solberg, the frontman of the progressive band Leprous, has announced his second solo album titled ‘Vox Occulta’, which is scheduled for release on April 24th, 2026 . The project is described as a bold, heavy, and symphonic statement, featuring a high-profile collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra .
Musical Direction and the Single ‘Medulla’
To coincide with the announcement, Solberg released the second track from the album, ‘Medulla’ .
• Composition: The song originated from a riff Solberg created using an 8-string guitar plugin, resulting in a “physical” sound meant to be felt in the bones .
• Themes: The lyrics explore the concept of inner strength and maintaining a resilient core regardless of external circumstances .
• Collaborators: While this specific track does not feature the full orchestra, it maintains a cinematic feel with Chris Baum on strings, Keli Guðjónsson on drums, Pierre Danel on guitar, and Jed Lingat on bass . Other contributors to the album include John Browne (Monuments) and Ben Levin .
Production and Thematic Context
‘Vox Occulta’ serves as a thematic follow-up to Solberg’s 2023 debut solo album, ‘16’ . While his debut focused on his past and struggles with anxiety, this new record provides a “warts’n’all” portrait of Solberg and his worldview in 2026 . The album was mixed by Adam Noble and co-produced with David Castillo .
The album is being released through Inside Out Music, which is part of Sony Music Entertainment Germany GmbH.
